Jesse Williams isn’t afraid to speak up about hot-button issues involving race and police brutality, so it’s no wonder the Grey’s Anatomy star took to social media Wednesday (July 22) to brilliantly argue the injustice involving Sandra Bland‘s death.

The 33-year-old former high school public teacher boldly called out the privilege a “select segment of Americans” are granted when interacting with police and pointed out that privilege isn’t given to minorities, and oftentimes turns fatal.
Sandra Bland, 28, was arrested July 10th. Bland was pulled over in Walker County, TX for not signaling before changing lanes. Things then escalated when Bland refused to put out her cigarette, which led to her arrest. Three days later, Bland was found dead in her cell, with authorities claiming Bland committed suicide.
